Structures in a Different Context: Japan

    • Many issues of structural form and methods are governed as much by historical, social, and economic context as by physics and structural theory.

    • Different countries (even different parts of the same country) often solve the same problems using very different methods.

    • By observing and analyzing different practices, you can come to a better understanding of the underlying problems.
