Your Personal computer

Incoming students and students interested in buying a new computer, please look at our Computer Recommendation.

If you already have a computer, please see Software Distribution for information on free and contract price software for your personal computer.

When you bring your computer to the school, look at Help & Documentation for information on how to connect it to the school's resources.

Student Computer Technical Support

We are here to assist you with computer problems you may encounter that occur after normal school hours. Some of our help hours are during the regular school day, and we are happy to help you during those hours, but we are particularly here to help during the hours that the computer staff is not here - like at 10pm when you are so frustrated that you are about to throw the computer out of the window. Please keep in mind that our help hours are STRICT. We also have a lot of work ourselves, so please respect our time to do our own work when it is not during designated help hours. Thanks!

If you have questions, you can email them to arch-consult@virginia.edu.

Many resources are available at the school and UVa for training in software and other technology. Please see:
