Amy Finstein
My name is Amy Finstein and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Architectural History. Originally from Boston, I came to UVA for the opportunity to study closely with the leading scholars in my field, and for the interdisciplinary opportunities offered by the School of Architecture. While completing my coursework I took classes in every department of the School of Architecture, and my research similarly explores facets of architectural and urban history, landscape design, and the impact of the automobile on our built environment.

Karl Krause
I'm a third–year MLA student in the Path A program, originally from Wisconsin and most recently from the California Bay Area. Before arriving at UVA, I studied English at Carleton College and worked as an ESL instructor, 6-8 grade music teacher, graphic designer, technical writer, and writer for an urban planning / landscape architecture firm in Berkeley, California. I'm currently involved in GALA (Graduate Architecture and Landscape Architecture student group) and I would be happy to handle any prospective student’s questions about the application process, in particular.

Ryan McEnroe
My name is Ryan McEnroe and I am pursuing a Dual Masters Degree in Architecture and Landscape Architecture. I grew up with four brothers on a certified organic farm in up–state New York. I attained an A.S. in Architectural Studies from Morrisville State College (May 2002), B.S in Architecture from Arizona State University (May 2005), and studied at the Ecosa Institute (fall of 2005).
I have worked for both large and small architecture offices in New York, Phoenix (design/build), and here in Charlottesville with William McDonough + Partners. I have been a member on three NAAB Visiting Teams and have visited a good number (~25) of architecture programs throughout the country. I serve on the Student Senate, Curriculum Committee, and GALA (Graduate Architecture and Landscape Architecture). Being an active member of the AIAS (National West Quad Director 2004–2005, AIAS representative to the NAAB 2007–2009), I would be happy to serve as a resource for any student interested in the graduate programs at the University of Virginia School of Architecture.

Chihiro Shinohara
My name is Chihiro Shinohara and I am a 3rd year path-A MArch + path-B MLA student. I am originally from Japan and received my A.A. in Environmental Design from the Sapporo School of Arts in Sapporo, Japan. I also hold a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois, Champaign, IL.
